Color choices
A baby dinosaur pokes out of its cracked egg surrounded by small flowers. Give the eggshell a light cream base and pick a bolder shade for its large spots, then follow the jagged crack carefully to keep the shell separate from the hatchling. Color the dinosaur itself in a soft green or tan, and let the nearby flowers repeat one of the shell’s spot colors. Keep the sun a warm yellow overhead.
Before and after the hatch
Fold a separate sheet into two panels. Draw the egg before it opened in the first panel and what the baby might explore next in the second. Place your colored hatching picture between the panels to tell the whole story.
