Arctic Animals Coloring Pages

24 free PDFs

These arctic animal pages travel to the far north, where the sea stays frozen for much of the year. A polar bear stands on an ice floe with two cubs, walruses with long tusks crowd an ice shelf, narwhals swim under the sea ice as light shines through the cracks, an orca leaps in front of a glacier and a herd of caribou crosses the tundra.

Smaller animals are here too: an arctic fox curled up in its winter coat, a lemming in its snow tunnel, ptarmigans, puffins with fish in their beaks and a fluffy harp seal pup. For more detail there are an arctic ocean cutaway, a realistic polar bear portrait, a zentangle polar bear and a mandala. Start with the six picks below or browse every arctic animal page, then download the free PDF.

Things to make with your arctic animals coloring pages

Color with cold colors

Arctic scenes look icy in pale blue, lavender and white. Leave most of the snow white, shade the ice in light blue and save one warm color, such as the orange of a puffin beak, to make it stand out.

Compare winter coats

Color the arctic fox, the ptarmigans and the harp seal pup, then talk about why so many arctic animals are white or pale in winter and how that helps them hide in the snow.

Light up the northern lights

On the polar bear under the northern lights, color the ribbons of light in soft greens, pinks and purples and blend them with a light pencil so they glow against the night sky.
