The zodiac
The zodiac wheel places all twelve animals in their own segments, and the zodiac dragon coils around a pearl among clouds. Find the animal for the year you were born.
Lunar New Year is celebrated in late January or February with lanterns, family meals, lion and dragon dances and fireworks. Each year belongs to one of twelve zodiac animals, and every one of them has its own page here, from the rat to the pig, set among clouds, plum blossoms and lanterns.
There are also pages for the festival itself: a family folding dumplings, a steamer basket, lucky envelopes with mandarin oranges, a lion dance in the street, a dragon kite and fireworks over a pagoda. Start with the six picks below or browse every page, then download the free PDF.
