Color choices
Praying mantis perches on a branch with rolling hills stretched across the background. Choose a light shade for the mantis’ body and dark tones for the branch it grips. Blend the distant hills into a soft hazy blue-green so they sit behind the scene. Keep the mantis’ folded front legs a shade darker than the rest of its body.
Compare mantis legs and leaf shapes
Color the mantis’ legs first, then use a contrasting palette for the leaves on the branch.
