Color choices
This tortoise stands on a rock beside an open treasure chest, with a small fish swimming past a sunken mast nearby. Try a deep tan for its shell, and a lighter cream for the head and legs. Color the treasure chest in dark honeyed wood, stacking it with gold coins and bright gems. Let the fish take on bright orange, with coral tubes nearby in pink.
Compare rock and shell
Color the rock first, then use a lighter shade for the turtle’s shell and the surrounding seaweed.
Printing tips
Tortoise on a Rock with a Treasure Chest and Fish Coloring Page has about 207 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
