Color choices

Sushi can begin with soft ivory rice and dark seaweed wraps. Color the fish-topped pieces with salmon pink, pale orange, or deep red, then vary the roll fillings with green and yellow accents. Use warm brown for the wooden board, dark brown for chopsticks, and a deep tone for the dipping sauce. Add pale pink to the ginger and green to the wasabi for contrast.

Sushi Sauce Story

Choose matching colors for the sushi fillings and make the dipping sauce stand out with a deep contrasting shade. Use subtle lines of color on the wooden board to emphasize its grain.

Printing tips

Sushi Platter Coloring Page has about 141 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.

The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.

This picture is also in the Japan Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
