Color choices

This feathered dragon nests high in the redwood tree, its feathered wings ready for warm browns with lighter tipped feathers. Try a soft tan for the eggs cradled in the twig nest, keeping the nest itself a slightly darker brown. The thick tree trunk rising beside the nest could take on a deep reddish brown, and the distant forest and mountains below stay soft, hazy greens and blues.

Compare nest and tree

Color the nest first, then use a different palette for the tree trunk and branches.
