Color choices
A squirrel scurries toward a hollow tree house, arms full of candles for the party table. Try a warm reddish-brown for the squirrel’s fur and a paler tone for its bushy tail. The lantern hanging above the tree door could take a soft glow color, while the cake and cupcake on the stump suit warm frosting tones. Finish the balloons and bunting strung between the trees in bright contrasting colors.
Compare candle glow and tree shadows
Color the squirrel’s fur first, then use a warm palette for the candles and the tree’s shadowed areas.
