Color choices
Five bats circle a full moon glowing at the center of this night sky scene. Give each bat its own shade of charcoal, chestnut or plum so the group reads as varied rather than matching. Keep the moon a soft pale yellow and let the scattered stars around it pick up a light contrasting color. Shade the clouds drifting at the top and bottom softly so they stay separate from the dark sky behind them.
Count and compare wings
Count the five bats and find the smallest one. Color each pair of wings with matching colors, then compare how their shapes and positions differ. Add a five-dot counting key on a separate sheet.
Before you print
Five Bats Around a Full Moon Coloring Page has about 98 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
