Color choices
An iguana basks on a warm rock in the desert. Color its scaly skin in warm greens or browns, with a row of spines along its back taking on a slightly darker shade. Try earthy tans for the surrounding rocks and sand, and deep greens for the tall cactus standing nearby. Keep the distant mountains and bright sun in warm, hazy tones to complete the desert scene.
Color the iguana and sun
Color the iguana’s body first, then use a bright color for the sun and darker tones for the surrounding rocks.
Printing tips
Iguana Basking on a Warm Desert Rock Coloring Page has about 107 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
