Color choices
A squirrel gathers acorns beneath a giant oak tree. Color its body a warm reddish brown, and let the fluffy curled tail take on a slightly paler shade. Try tan caps and deeper brown shells for the acorns scattered on the ground, and rich browns for the thick tree trunk beside it. Keep the fallen leaves nearby in warm autumn colors to finish the scene.
Compare squirrel fur and acorn texture
Color the squirrel’s fur first, then use a contrasting palette for the acorns and the tree bark.
