Color choices
This elephant raises its trunk high while standing among sparse acacia trees on a dry desert plain. Color its skin a warm tan gray, keeping the wrinkles and folds visible with a slightly darker shade in the creases. Try dusty green for the flat-topped acacia trees dotting the background. Fill the ground beneath its feet with a sandy brown and a few tufts of dry grass.
Compare trunk and ear shapes
Color the elephant’s trunk first, then use a contrasting palette for the large ears and body.
