Color choices
This turtle stretches out on a floating log, legs relaxed at its sides above the water. Give the domed shell its own solid tone first, then use a lighter shade for the head and legs so they stand apart from the shell. The log beneath it suits warm, weathered browns, while the cattails and water lily nearby can take deep greens and soft pinks.
Color the log and turtle
Color the log first with a warm brown, then shade the turtle’s shell with darker tones.
Printing tips
Turtle Sunbathing on a Log in the Lake Coloring Page has about 71 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
