Color choices
This starfish rests among the rocks in a shallow tide pool, its rounded arms dotted with small bumps. Try a warm orange or pink for its body and a lighter shade for the raised dots along its arms. The seaweed swaying behind it and the scattered shells nearby could take deep greens and soft pastel tones, while the water rippling around them stays pale blue.
Compare water and shell textures
Color the water around the starfish first, then use a warm orange for the starfish’s body and a light blue for the surrounding rocks.
