Color choices

Prism faces can be colored first with pale blue or lavender, using darker edges for contrast. Continue with the incoming beam in soft yellow, then fill the rainbow bands with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Finish the sun, window, clouds, table, and floor in quieter tones so the spectrum stands out.

Spectrum Sequence

Choose an order for the rainbow bands, then use the same sequence from the narrow area near the prism to the wide outer edge.

Before you print

With about 60 areas to color, Prism Making a Rainbow Coloring Page is an easy page: the shapes are big and open. Wide crayons or washable markers fill them without much fuss.

Download the PDF and print it on US Letter. For A4, select “Fit to page” in the print dialog; a single test print shows whether your printer keeps the thin outer frame.
