Color choices

Redwood trees can begin with warm rust, reddish brown, or deep sienna across the broad trunks. Use forest green for the rounded canopies and lighter greens for the ferns, shrubs, and ground leaves. Keep the winding path pale tan, then place darker browns in the bark grooves and cool green shadows near the trunk bases for contrast.

Bark Stripe Patterns

Color the long trunk grooves with alternating light and dark shades, letting the stripe patterns change from tree to tree. Repeat selected shades in the ferns and shrubs to connect the forest scene.

Printing tips

Giant Redwood Trees Coloring Page has about 238 separate areas to color, so it is a detailed page. Sharpened colored pencils or fine-tip markers reach the small spaces, and it is easy to color one section at a time.

The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
