Color choices
This turtle suns itself atop a log floating beside the river, with cattails growing along the bank. Try a warm green for the turtle’s shell, using a lighter shade for the pattern across its back. Give the log a rich brown, and add gray tones to the smooth rocks resting in the shallow water. Keep the river a soft blue, and fill the bushes and cattails behind it with deep greens.
Compare sun and river
Color the sun first with a bright yellow-orange, then use a cool blue for the river and sky.
