Color choices

Kitten fur can begin with cream, orange, gray, or brown, leaving lighter accents around the muzzle and chest. Color the inner ears, nose, paws, and curled tail next. Use contrasting shades for the butterfly’s wings, rounded spots, body, and antennae. Finish the grass in fresh greens so it stands apart from the fur.

Wing Pattern Plan

Color the rounded wing spots in an alternating sequence, then repeat selected shades on the kitten’s fur and the surrounding grass.

Print this picture

Kitten Watching a Butterfly Coloring Page has about 36 separate areas to color, most of them large and open, so it is an easy page. Crayons, chunky markers or paint sticks cover the big shapes quickly.

The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.

This picture is also in the Butterflies Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
