Color choices

Simple butterfly wings offer broad spaces for yellow, orange, or blue. Color the upper and lower wing sections first, using related shades or alternating hues. Use a contrasting color on the segmented body, then accent the round antenna tips and eyes with darker tones. Keep the face area light so the curved mouth and small brows remain clear.

Mirrored Wing Pattern

Color corresponding wing areas with matching shades or contrasting hues. Repeat the chosen arrangement across the butterfly’s broad wing sections.

Before you print

With about 14 areas to color, Simple Butterfly Coloring Page is an easy page: the shapes are big and open. Wide crayons or washable markers fill them without much fuss.

Download the PDF and print it on US Letter. For A4, select “Fit to page” in the print dialog; a single test print shows whether your printer keeps the thin outer frame.

This picture is also in the Butterflies Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
