Color choices
Giraffe rests on the grass with gently rolling hills spreading out behind it. Color the hills in a soft hazy green-blue to push them into the distance. Give the giraffe’s coat a warm tan wash and its scattered spots a deeper brown. Finish with short tufts of grass in a brighter green around its folded legs.
Compare grass and giraffe spots
Color the grass first, then use a contrasting palette for the giraffe’s spots and the background.
