Color choices
Tortoise coloring can begin with the shell panels in olive green and warm brown. Use soft green for the body, then give the ribbon and post bows a bright yellow or red contrast against the pale path. Color the hare in tan or gray beside a deep brown tree trunk. Finish with varied greens for the bushes, grass, and trees, plus pink or purple flowers.
Finish Ribbon Pattern
Give the finish ribbon and post bows a repeating color pattern. Carry selected colors into the nearby flowers for a coordinated race scene.
Before you print
With about 161 areas to color, The Tortoise and the Hare Race Coloring Page sits at a medium level of detail. Use crayons for the big shapes and switch to pencils for the narrow parts.
