Color choices
This generous squirrel offers nuts to another squirrel outside the hollow tree, their tails ready for a warm reddish brown. Try a deeper brown for the tree trunk and the dark hollow opening in its side, keeping the bark texture a contrasting lighter tone. The scattered acorns and fallen leaves on the ground could take on warm autumn colors, filling out the woodland floor.
Compare squirrel fur and tree bark
Color the squirrels’ fur with one shade, then use a darker tone for the tree bark around the hollow.
