Color choices
This squirrel holds an acorn beside mushrooms growing near a tangle of exposed tree roots. Try a warm reddish brown for the squirrel’s fur and a lighter shade for its bushy tail. Color the acorns scattered nearby a deep brown with textured caps, then give the mushrooms earthy warm tones. Add rich browns to the twisting roots and varied colors to the fallen leaves.
Compare squirrel fur and acorn texture
Color the squirrel’s fur first, then use a contrasting palette for the acorns and mushrooms.
