Color choices

Lungs can begin with soft pink or coral across the broad inner areas. Color the branching airways pale blue or cream, then use a deeper shade along the windpipe rings. Choose purple or teal for the curved diaphragm, with a contrasting tone at the airway junction. Keep the torso outline lightly shaded so the lungs and smaller branches remain prominent.

Airway Color Path

Carry a shade from the windpipe into the branching airways, changing tones where the branches spread. Finish the curved diaphragm with a bold contrasting band.

Printing tips

Lungs and Breathing Coloring Page has about 21 separate areas to color, most of them large and open, so it is an easy page. Crayons, chunky markers or paint sticks cover the big shapes quickly.

The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.

This picture is also in the Human Body Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
