Color choices
A rose rises on a thorny stem beneath a sky scattered with clouds. Give the bloom a rich color and pick a darker or muted shade for the thorns so they stand out along the stem. Color the pointed leaves in varying greens, and try a pale gray for the clouds overhead with short green tufts marking the grass below.
Compare stem and leaf textures
Color the thorned stem first, then use a contrasting palette for the smooth leaves.
Printing tips
Rose with a Thorned Stem and Leaves Under Clouds Coloring Page has about 41 separate areas to color, most of them large and open, so it is an easy page. Crayons, chunky markers or paint sticks cover the big shapes quickly.
Download the PDF and print it on US Letter. For A4, select “Fit to page” in the print dialog; a single test print shows whether your printer keeps the thin outer frame.
