Color choices
Impossible staircase illusion can begin with pale gray or cream across the broad tower walls. Color the stair treads and landings in alternating blue and violet, then use darker navy along the paneled railings and top rim. Bright yellow inside the rectangular railing panels will contrast with the cooler stairs, while the open center can remain white or take a soft gray.
Railing Panel Pattern
Color the rectangular railing panels in a repeating sequence. Reverse the sequence on each staircase section to emphasize the twisting optical effect.
Printing tips
Impossible Staircase Illusion Coloring Page has about 194 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
This picture is also in the Op Art Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
