Color choices
A squirrel sits gathering acorns beneath a tall oak tree. Color its bushy tail and body in warm reddish brown, leaving its belly a lighter cream for contrast. The oak tree towering above looks good in deep brown bark, with the hanging acorns and leaves in warm green and tan. Fill the scattered acorns and grass at the squirrel’s feet in matching earthy tones to ground the scene.
Compare squirrel fur and acorn textures
Color the squirrel’s fur first, then use a contrasting palette for the acorns and leaves on the ground.
