Color choices

Snowy owl can begin with soft white, cream, or pale gray across the body and broad wings. Shade the layered flight feathers and spotted markings with cool gray or muted brown. Use amber or gold for the eyes and beak, with charcoal talons for contrast. Finish the snowdrifts, mountains, rocks, and shrubs in icy blue, lavender, slate, and evergreen.

Wing Feather Pattern

Color the layered wing feathers with a repeating sequence of pale and dark shades, then echo the same sequence across the tail.

Printing tips

Snowy Owl Flying Over the Tundra Coloring Page has about 75 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.

Download the PDF and print it on US Letter. For A4, select “Fit to page” in the print dialog; a single test print shows whether your printer keeps the thin outer frame.

This picture is also in the Arctic Animals Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
