Color choices
This sleeping baby elephant lies curled on the ground, its folded ears and closed eyes suited to a soft gray or pale pink tone. Add a slightly deeper shade to the wrinkles along the trunk and legs so the resting pose reads clearly. Behind it, layer soft greens for the grassy hills and a darker green for the low bushes at the edge.
Compare grass and hills
Color the grass first, then use a darker palette for the hills in the background.
Printing tips
Sleeping Baby Elephant Resting on Grass with Hills Coloring Page has about 31 separate areas to color, most of them large and open, so it is an easy page. Crayons, chunky markers or paint sticks cover the big shapes quickly.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
