Color choices
This family spreads a checkered picnic blanket beneath a canopy of apple blossoms. Color the blanket in alternating warm and cool squares, and give the blossoms overhead soft pastel pinks and whites. The picnic basket and jars of food nearby could take earthy browns and bright fruit colors, while the dog waiting beside the blanket gets a warm golden coat. Try fresh greens for the grass and leaves framing the scene.
Color the apples
Color the apples on the tree and the plate first, then use different shades for the blanket and surrounding flowers.
