Color choices
This old oak tree stands with a ring of small mushrooms circling its wide trunk. Try a deep brown for the gnarled bark and layered greens for the leafy canopy above. Color the mushrooms ringing the base in warm contrasting tones against the grass. Give the surrounding grass varied shades of green so the ring of mushrooms stands out clearly.
Compare the texture of the tree bark and the mushroom caps
Color the tree bark first, then use a soft green for the grass and a muted brown for the mushrooms.
