Color choices
This fox sniffs at small mushrooms growing near a rocky den in the forest. Try a warm orange for the fox’s fur and a soft white for its chest and tail tip. Color the rocks in cool grays and give the mushrooms beneath its nose earthy warm tones. Add layered greens to the ferns and pine trees filling the background scene.
Compare mushroom caps and fox fur
Color the mushroom caps first with a light tone, then use a darker shade for the fox’s fur.
Printing tips
Fox Sniffing Mushrooms Near a Rocky Forest Den Coloring Page has about 167 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
