Color choices
This bear sits on a log, roasting chestnuts in a pan held above a crackling campfire. Try pale yellow near the logs, deepening to orange and red at the outer flames. Color the chestnuts in a deep roasted brown, then pick a different brown or an invented shade for the bear’s fur. Give the woven basket beside the log its own warm tone.
Tell a campfire story
Imagine who gave the bear the basket of chestnuts and what it will do when they are ready. Write two or three sentences on separate paper and place them beside the finished picture.
Before you print
With about 141 areas to color, Bear Roasting Chestnuts Over a Campfire Coloring Page sits at a medium level of detail. Use crayons for the big shapes and switch to pencils for the narrow parts.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
This picture is also in the Autumn Coloring Pack, one PDF with 12 pictures and a cover page for printing a set in one go.
