Color choices
This large rose, seen directly from above, spirals its many petals beside small flowers under a bright sun. Try a bold warm color for the tightly layered petals, shading the inner layers a touch darker than the outer ones. Shade the sun in golden yellow and give the small flowers nearby their own bright, varied colors. Fill the grass and the rose’s own leaves with fresh green.
Compare petals and leaves
Color the rose petals first, then use a contrasting palette for the leaves and background.
Before you print
Large Rose Viewed From Above with Flowers and a Sun Coloring Page has about 77 separate areas to color, a medium level of detail. Crayons work for the larger shapes, and colored pencils or fine markers help in the smaller spaces.
The PDF fills one US Letter page. On A4 paper, choose “Fit to page” so the frame stays inside the margins, and print one test copy before making a class set.
